We need you!
Gallery Night Providence runs on volunteer power!
Volunteer with us and get to know the Providence arts scene, and have fun working with some local artists (and non-artists too!).
Are you a student who needs service hours or volunteer experience? An art lover who wants to help the cultural scene in Providence thrive? A retiree with skills to offer? A young professional who would like to get involved in the Providence community?
If so, we’d love to hear from you!
We are actively recruiting volunteers for short term projects, including help with events and event planning, office projects, and administrative tasks. Remote and in-person opportunities are available. Please fill out the “Volunteer with us!” form below (scroll down to the bottom of the page) if you are interested!
Right now we have an immediate need for Gallery Night Greeters. Please see the description below!
Greeters for Third Thursday Events needed
Spend a few hours a month at one of two fun Providence locations greeting and registering tour-goers for our free art tours.
We offer free art tours on the third Thursdays March through November. Tours leave from our hub at the Graduate Hotel (formerly the Biltmore) and the Waterfire Arts Center.
We’re building a team of volunteer greeters to cover all nine Gallery Nights plus some special events in 2024.
Duties include: Greeting and checking in tour goers; setting up and taking down banners and other signage; launching visitors on self-guided tours; accurately recording data; delivering friendly professional customer service.
Commitment: 4-6 Gallery Nights per season, 4 to 8:30 pm (Can be split into shifts). Must enjoy working with diverse public audiences.
Training: Provided
Benefits: Learn more about Providence’s art scene, discover new art spaces, work with a small team of non-profit staff and volunteers, meet new people. Earn school/community service hours.
Interested? Please email info@gallerynight.org. Include: why you’d like to volunteer and any relevant customer service/public interaction experience.
